SARA's INTERVIEW

What Sara is mentioning is what most of us had faced in one time or another. When we are learning another language, the listening part is one of the principal skills for us to learn about pronunciation, words, accents, etc.

Most of the time is a matter of getting used to this new vocabulary and being constantly working on it; indeed, the listening skill we’ll help us to develop the rest of the skills, reading, speaking, and writing.
She mentions that the base for her to overcome this weakness was the practice she had on some web pages. This made a significant progress in her learning, to the point this is not a problem anymore.

The activities she had were very appealing to her. Some examples are the simple games, the different kind of practices, singing song, writing , reading , listening, etc all of this in order to learn more.

If you are a good listener, you can get better results in every area of English; for doing so, the best piece of advice I can make is to keep yourself practicing because there’s no other way for you to make your ear get a costume to the language in general.

As Sara's recommendation, practice is the base for improving the four macroskills.
Do you have any other piece of advice???.....

  2. I consider that listening is one of the most difficult skill to imporve... I think that it can be really difficult because in our country we do not practice Englishn outside because it is not our native language...

to listen to some conversation on the web is a good way to improve it because you listen to the correct pronuntiation, as it can be a good idea to listen to some songs, and I'm sure that it functions because I always try it...

I agree with you all. One has to put out there, jump in the water in order to develope certain skills and in my case listening to English as much as I can has helped me accomodate my ear to the English in different accens!
